Tim Bray notes in his weblog today that they're almost set to send the Atom format off for review by the IETF. I've had an on-again-off-again relationship with following the whole syndication movement, but it sure is appeasing to hear that Atom is close to completion. If they do get to fix the duplication problem this will be a big plus for syndication as a whole and obviously for Atom in particular.
