There's alot that has been said about iTunes Ping already and the poor job it currently does as a social-network browser. But for me this is the clincher, and Apple really isn't helping their own cause. Linkin Park have a post in their Ping profile linking to their own iTunes band page. However, as the hyperlink is rendered purely as text the only way to get to it is to re-type the link in a real browser which then takes me back into iTunes again. In between, of course, I've moved off from the Ping page and into the band's page!
